Below you will find information on press credentials, media guides, and media opportunities. We welcome your coverage of our event and we will do our best to accommodate your organization.

Media Guide

To obtain a 2010 Prairie Air Show ™ media guide, email us. They will be available after June 20, 2010. Media guides will also be distributed with Prairie Air Show ™ credentials and upon request the days of the show.

Press Credentials

To apply for press credentials, email your request with all pertinent information or fax your request on company letterhead to 309.661.5697.

All requests must be received at least 10 days before the show. If this request is not made in time, credentials WILL NOT BE distributed to your organization. NO EXCEPTIONS!

If requests are received in time, credentials will be mailed to the organization. Multiple passes will not be issued for the same organization; this will need to be orchestrated within your organization. There will be a limit of three press passes issues per organization.

Pertinent information includes:
  • Name (s) of individuals that will be attending event
  • Position of the individual (reporter, photographer)
  • Name of organization you will be representing. If you are a freelance journalist, please provide the name of the organization you will be covering the event for, along with a letter on company letterhead stating you are a freelance journalist for that organization. The letter must be signed by the editor. If you are an unassigned freelance photographer please list two references complete with phone number and/or e-mail address and what news organization the reference is associated.
  • Contact information (e-mail, phone and mailing address)
  • Day (s) in which credentialed individuals will attend

Press Credential Distribution

If requests are received in time (not less than ten days before the show), credentials will be mailed to the organization. Excessive passes will not be issued for the same organization ("excessive" will be decided by the executive staff committee members).

If your request was submitted in the 10 days immediately prior to the show, passes will picked up at the VIP entrance gate with proper media credentials.

Mailed credential package will include:
  • Site contact number for an air show representative will be posted on the back of press credentials.
  • Schedule of Media Opportunities (below are some general media opportunities, a more detailed list will be included with press kit)
    • • Preparations for the air show occur throughout the week, starting on the Monday before the show begins.
    •Set-up/Tear-down of show
    • New and better show site lay-out
    • Volunteers – it takes hundreds of volunteers to make this happen!
    • Our beneficiaries
    • Our pre-show events Friday is our Press Show!
    • Air Show performers visit to Children"s Hospital (dates and times available closer to the show)
    • Interviews with specific performers
    • Media Day is Friday - Press how will begin around noon (time subject to change, please double check the week of the show) - Make-A-Wish Kids will be in attendance and performers will come visit with them after they fly.

Entrance onto Air Show Grounds

  • All media will enter via the VIP gate off of Johanson Road. (please see map)
  • You will be asked to display your air show assigned credentials for the gate personnel.
  • If you do not have AIR SHOW credentials and are not from the local area, you will be asked to wait at the gate until a media representative is available to come to the gate to allow access.
  • Pre-registration is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED and will speed access privileges.
  • You will be allowed access almost anywhere on air show grounds, some access may require an escort, please see Brad Windsor for restrictions.

Media Access Guidelines

  • Filming or photography of events for private sale or commercial distribution is prohibited; prior written approval from Prairie Air Show ™, Inc. is required.
  • Credentials are available to authorized personnel only for the purpose of providing timely mass media coverage of the event. Credentials are available for working press only. Pre-registration is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED and will speed on-site access privileges.
  • Prairie Air Show® requests that you submit published work within 2-3 weeks after the show.
